Monday More Fun Day

Pussident 47A Porky Duhmp has taken the required oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States twice, but hasn't done it yet. So yeah, it's time to get moving on the impeachment of his worthless blubbery ass.

Added 9:54 AM Tuesday: They know it's coming.

Duhmp's approval rating is sinking into the quicksand of the 30's and it's causing him to demand investigations and prosecutions, because reporting his increasing weakness is criminal activity. The early polls are showing majority support for his impeachment.

Crossing Over Jordan (Again)

Gym Jordan is definitely one of the ten rottenest MAGA Muppets in Congress, so anything exposing him is welcomed news. The latest reports are that Russian intelligence agents fed a lot of false information about financial crimes committed by Joe and Hunter Biden to an FBI informant named Alexander Smirnov, and that the bogus Russian accusations Smirnov then relayed to the FBI eventually became the "evidence" used by James Comer and Gym Jordan to justify their attempted impeachment of Joe for financial corruption (bribery).

Another note that interested me today: Donnie Dunce urgently wants Nikki Haley to officially withdraw from the race for the MAGA Moron nomination because (a) he can't afford to prolong a competitive campaign, and (b) Nikki has gotten very mean with her criticism of him. Dunce announced that anyone donating money to her campaign will be permanently banned from the MAGA camp. What a fucking tool.

Here's how much Dunce's threat to stop associating with them has discouraged Nikki's supporters: She's still bringing in significant campaign contributions since her supporters have had enough of Dunce's crap.

The Garland Precedent?

If all those (R)s thought it was cool when Moscow Mitch stole a Supreme Court seat from Barack Obama, I don't want to hear them piss and moan about Madam Speaker placing the impeachment articles on temporary hold. Fuck 'em.

The Dope Defense

During football season, I usually buy the Friday newsstand editions of USA Today or Houston Chronicle for their sports and entertainment sections. If there's anything that catches my eye in the op-ed pages, I read that too.

Which explains how I came across a Chronicle column under the headline "Incompetence is not impeachable offense" by some right-wing asshole named Marc A. Thiessen, who gets his opinions published in The Washington Post originally. I wasn't familiar with the name, but a quick google search revealed he's a conservative from the Donald Rumsfeld branch of the (R) party, and wrote speeches for Bush 43.

The premise of the column I read this morning elaborated on something I'd seen online last week before the impeachment hearings became a TV show: The (R)s know Donny Shmenge is under Putin's control and is guilty of everything he's suspected to have done regarding Ukraine fuckery. Since there's no way to prove he's innocent, they'll try a variation of the not guilty by reason of diminished capacity defense.

This Thiessen dick wad argues that Shmenge is, at any given moment, one or more of the following: incompetent, erratic, incoherent, irrational, or impressionable. Shmenge doesn't know how to perform the duties of his position, so he surrounds himself with evildoers like Rudy Kazootie, who can manipulate him with conspiracy theories and assorted crazy notions. Even then, he changes his mind from hour to hour, producing chaos and confusion.

This nonsense goes on for several paragraphs, and eventually wraps up with the conclusion in the headline. My reaction is that I would thoroughly enjoy watching Shmenge personally embrace this defense, especially the parts about being incompetent and dependent on subordinates who can manipulate him with false information. I'm imagining his Twitter rampages blaming Rudy, Mick, Mitch and Mike for taking advantage of his gullibility and lack of preparation.

I won't disagree that Shmenge is being manipulated, but the people pulling the strings aren't his subordinates in the White House. They're his superiors in Moscow.

Reality Television

The televised impeachment investigation hearings began this morning. We should be very thankful that so many patriots are willing to testify against all those traitors.

Added 5:55 PM: Worth reading, by Amanda Marcotte at Salon. The real impeachable quid pro quo should be the one that exists between Donny Shmenge and Vladimir Putin, who can make Donny dance like a trained monkey any time he wants to. Take Putin and Russia out of the picture, and I have a feeling Shmenge wouldn't know how to spell Ukraine or find it on a map.

Added 6:52 PM: Somewhere, buried deep in the bowels of Congress, there may be a few (R)s who aren't repulsive shitasses. For whatever reason, they never appear on TV news shows or make it into the leading Internet political reports. Which (R)s attract the most media attention? Well, besides the stinking shit stains in the White House, we get Moscow Mitch, Booger Barr, Little Lindsey Graham, Devin Nunes, Louie Gohmert, Gym Jordan -- the list goes on and on. Since the very, VERY worst ones hog the spotlight, people like me judge the whole party by its most visible members. And we think of the GOP as a bottomless ocean of human excrement, toxic waste, and other seriously nasty stuff.

Excuses, excuses

According to AlterNet, Moscow Mitch held a meeting behind closed doors and told the other Senate (R) cockroaches that basically, it's every man for himself when it comes to defending Donny Shmenge. Each (R) needs to concoct some rationalization that works for him in his personal situations. An uncoordinated approach is their only option since Shmenge's chosen defense can be summarized like this: "I'm the victim of the biggest witch hunt in the history of the world, and besides, I have absolute immunity. Case closed."

Meanwhile, the House (R) cockroaches have apparently decided they'll treat the impeachment process like a big joke so it will just go away by itself.

The bottom line is that it still boils down to this:

If Barack Obama had done what Donny did, would the (R)s call it an impeachable offense and be willing to remove him from office for doing it?

and

If the real transcript of the Ukraine call (not the edited summary) exonerates his ass, why is it still hidden from human eyes?

Why hurry?

Washington Monthly explains why House committees shouldn't arbitrarily limit the scope of their impeachment investigations. Hint: It has to do with the rate at which fresh new crimes are being exposed.

Donny Strunz says he may have met Fruity Rudy once or twice, and saw his name in a newspaper last week.

Lapdog Lindsey

Lindsey Graham has it wrong as usual. The country won't be destroyed if Fat Donny Strunz is impeached. It might easily be destroyed if he's NOT impeached. We need a major cleanup in every aisle.

Digby @ Salon on the latest chapter of the impeachment saga. I'm pretty sure the lawyers who dreamed up this letter know it has the legal impact of a paper bag full of dog turds, but it was something they could do to make Strunz believe he has control of the situation for a few days.

The (R)s seem to think that no one remembers Monica Lewinsky and what the rules regarding impeachment were back then.

It'll have to do.

DAILY KOS explains why House committees should activate inherent contempt procedures to get the attention of Donny Nacho and his gang of criminals.

Playing the What's He Hiding Now? game

Since Booger Barr already has the coverup underway, we might as well begin rampant public speculation about the various crimes the slimy orange bastard is hiding from voters THIS time. Remember, what he really did will always be worse than what we originally thought he did.

We should call him Blanket Barr since he specializes in coverups.

I-M-P-E-A-C-H?

At the liberal blogs I see most often, the big topic is impeachment. Of the two most common arguments on the subject, I don't agree with either.

One argument is that the House should initiate a full-scale impeachment proceeding next week, and last week would've been even better. I disagree because the House is in a position, via subpoenas and public hearings, to add a lot of information and public understanding to the existing Mueller report. That will reinforce the case against the orange stool sample, but it will take time. There's no great rush, just do a thorough job.

The opposing argument is that impeachment should be off the table. The Senate Republicans will never vote to remove the stool sample from office, and after impeachment fails, Donnie will coast to victory in the 2020 election. My problem with this argument is that if the predicted outcome is so certain and so favorable to the GOP, I'd expect to hear Republicans encouraging Democrats to get the ball rolling, maybe even daring them to do it. I'm not hearing anything like that, but I'm receiving signals that Republicans don't see an advantage for their side unless the impeachment impetus dies a sudden, quiet death (move along, there's nothing to see here). Right now, Republicans LOVE seeing Democrats trembling in fear that Donnie will be impeached.

Added 7:37 PM Monday: Based on a Washington Post report at MSN, it seems like Madam Speaker is moving the House in the direction I hoped she would, meaning that impeachment isn't OFF the table, but it isn't the only thing ON the table either. And if the fat stool sample wants to drag this into the middle of next year with frivolous lawsuits, I'm okay with that too.

Added 1:12 AM Tuesday: Keep an eye on Triple Shitburger with Double Cheese over the next few days, as the subpoenas are announced summoning cooperative witnesses to testify under oath in public hearings. If there's anybody in the country who understands the power of television to shape public opinion, it's Triple Shitburger.
