Wisdom regarding nature
I'm with Linus on this one. I've spent all the time in the boonies I plan to spend, and if I never sleep on the ground again, it'll be too soon to suit me. From here on out, I'm a middle-of-the-sidewalk kinda guy.

Bosses
Many married guys don't really understand chain of command issues at home. During my career in the welfare bureaucracy, my immediate supervisor was usually female, or if male, HIS boss was a woman. Women were well-represented in the administrative hierarchy, and I didn't have any problems with it. The worst boss I ever had was a man and the two best ones were women. And so it goes...

Recollections
In this strip, Charlie speaks for the me that was. The me that occupied space and consumed oxygen while being invisible ca. 1956-1965. I needed somebody like Linus to be patient and understanding, but there was a shortage of shoulders to cry on back in those days.
