After waiting 29 days, I was injected with the second dose of the Moderna vaccine this afternoon. Unlike the first dose (walk-in), the vaccine hub was configured into a drive-through operation today, and I have no idea how many hundreds of vehicles and passengers passed through before I arrived for my mid-afternoon appointment. Despite the heavy traffic and lines of cars, the hub was functioning efficiently. All told, I was in and out in 40 minutes, including the required 15-minute precautionary holding period after getting the shot. The convenience of staying in the car outweighed the extra time needed to complete the process.
I was very impressed with everything about the COVID vaccination program that I participated in during March. After surviving four years of America at its absolute worst under the former guy, it's a real pleasure to finally experience America at its best again.
