So far, everything that I'm seeing is consistent with an elaborate scam that's working as planned. The Walter Reed physician who's apparently the designated spokesman has been acting like a guy who's been visited by some guys. The media discombobulation that an effective scam requires is present, and the devastating news reports on Cheezy's income tax fraud have disappeared and been replaced by blanket coverage of his hospitalization. Biden has suspended his negative TV campaign ads, and Cheezy has a perfect excuse for dodging the remaining debates (or forcing Biden to back out).
What I'm not seeing is anything consistent with a serious COVID-related illness. Other than mixed messages from medical staff at Walter Reed and the White House, there are no indications at all that Cheezy is sick, much less dangerously ill. He's posing for propaganda photos, tweeting up a storm, and joyriding to entertain the fans. And grinning smugly because he gets away with this shit so easily.
Update 3:33 PM Monday: The latest headline is that Cheez Whiz is heading back to the White House today. Tested positive Thursday night, sick over the weekend (maybe), healed Monday. Okay, now that it's behind him, let the bombardment of negativity resume posthaste. About those tax returns...
Update 4:09 PM Monday: There's at least one scam in operation today, and it's the one described @ Daily Kos.
Cheez Whiz is apparently terrified by the possibility that if he's laid up in the hospital, being treated for a potentially fatal disease, his loyal followers will start believing "We not skrong" and lose their enthusiasm for voting. If (when) that happens, a defeat transforms into a massive blowout that will be written about in history books. I'll accept that as a rational explanation for Cheezy's behavior today. As usual, the only truth that matters is the "truth" that Cheezy can make people believe with scams, lies and misdirection.
And naturally, a victory lap is a key component of every Cheez Whiz scam.
Update 6:52 PM Monday: Maybe Cheezy isn't unpopular because of his right-wing policies, but because of what a rotten person he is (one of the worst ever born). And maybe the reason he's not getting a pity bounce in the polls is because more people hope he dies than hope he gets well. I don't know, but we can't rule it out.
