Miseducation
William McKenzie is one of the conservatives writing for the Dallas Morning News editorial page, but he tends to be a little more reasonable than the others. The subject of this opinion piece is the latest set of maneuvers by the Board of Education to turn back time to the 16th century. Every time I read about these guardians of public morality, I'm convinced a lot of Texans would welcome a system of government similar to what the Taliban was running in Afghanistan until recently, with Southern Baptists in charge. I try to be tolerant of individual religious beliefs, but I wish the Texas evangelunicals would keep theirs to themselves.
