Irony

Conservatives are always pissing and moaning about public education, and they love to blame the dumbing down of America for every problem that comes along. The irony is that there's never been a political party more dependent on voter ignorance and stupidity than the modern Republican Party. The political dominance of the GOP from 1980 to 2008 resulted from the fact that fifty percent of American voters are dumber than dirt, and another five percent aren't much smarter. In one sense, then, conservatives are on the right track.
