For years, I've been superstitious about Friday 13th being a day when bad luck is the only kind, so I'll probably stay home and wait for a better day tomorrow. What I need is something wonderful to happen unexpectedly today. That would encourage me to start associating Friday 13th with nice things for a change.
Suppose for example there were 28 Republicans in the House who were completely fed up with MAGA bullshit and decided their chances of being reelected next year would improve if they were active members of a bipartisan Congress that was accomplishing good things for the country through compromise. Then suppose these Republicans negotiated a 50/50 power-sharing agreement with the Democratic caucus to elect Hakeem Jeffries to the Speaker position.
This is the sort of highly improbable blessing that would give Friday 13th a better reputation.
