Gloating

The triumphalism among Republicans this week sounds familiar, and reminds me of what I was hearing from Democrats a year ago. Personally, I'm relieved that Republicans now control the national legislative agenda. They'll have three years to straighten out the mess they largely created themselves. If they succeed, the country is better off; if they don't, the GOP goes back to minority status and the country is better off. I can live with either possibility.
