USA TODAY @ It's a sign of the times that conservative legislators in forty states are trying to enact laws that would prohibit mandatory vaccination. These people are hopeless, since they prefer a COVID pandemic which they know will kill thousands of people over vaccines that might be unsafe, maybe, for some people - because, you know, freedom.
These assholes are the reason we can't have nice things.
One of former guy's lasting gifts to RepubliQans was a rationale for denying nearly everything scientists understand about COVID-19 and the best ways to deal with it. Porky's gone now, but his idiot supporters are still pretending there's no such thing as COVID, and even if there is, so what?
Another legacy Porky bequeathed to his followers is the understanding that there's no reason to tell little lies occasionally, which is customary in politics. No, instead of a few little white lies now and then - tell huge lies that are so outrageous it's obvious you're lying, and tell ridiculous, easily disproved lies constantly, all day every day.
One thing that's noticeable about the 'replacement' version of the (R) Party is that the small number of its members who seem to be capable of rational thought and are willing to cut against the grain (e.g. Liz Cheney) are like a whiff of fresh air emanating from a stinkhole.
The report on Karen Garner of Colorado, who suffers from dementia at age 73, is a reminder that maybe we need a police force to protect us from our local police departments.
