Let's just try to get along, okay?

My rough estimate is that the fucking Republicans have had approximately 158,000 chances to work with Democrats on a bipartisan basis since 1994. Every time an opportunity to cooperate came along, Republicans pissed on it, then soaked it in gasoline and set it on fire, then pissed on it some more.

A Democrat who actually believes it's productive, or even possible, to trust any Republican who promises bipartisan cooperation is probably too gullible to serve in Congress, but evidently there are several in that category in the House.

Here's the fundamental truth to keep in mind as an elected Democrat: Republicans do not solve problems. Republicans create problems for Democrats to solve.
