It's tempting to compare what's happening in the United States today to the changes that occurred in Germany between 1929 and 1939, but on the surface, it seems like carrying an argument to ridiculous extremes.
On the other hand, when we look carefully at what the Republicans are up to, it's hard not to notice the similarities.
Donny Trumpery: "I am not supposed to be doing the kind of things that I would love to be doing. And I am very frustrated by it."
He was talking about using the Justice Department to punish Hillary Clinton for crimes he imagines she committed.
Update 6:30 PM: Let's face facts here. Putin and Russia are gradually taking control of the United States, with no military invasion or shots being fired. And Republicans are making it possible. That makes them collaborators in my book.
Update 7:05 PM: The closer Mueller gets to a criminal case against Donnie, the more frantically Republicans try to divert the public's attention with crap like the secret memo. I know it's crap because (a) it's the work of Devin Nunes, who was a member of Donnie's transition team and is probably up to his eyebrows in crooked activity, and (b) Nunes won't allow access to any knowledgeable person who might confirm it's phony bullshit.
