The bottom line is simple: The tea party movement needs the Republican Party about 1,000,000 times as much as the GOP needs the tea people. Without the GOP brand and the ability to threaten primary challenges, the tea movement would be extinct in less than 12 months. Just another fly-covered splatter of road kill on the highway of American politics.
